Very elegant looking five gaited mare. Light built, long legs and long, thin and arched neck.

Askja always felt like a four gaited mare in her training, and was trained as such the whole winter. Magnus, the trainer, and Þórður Þorgeirsson, the show rider, were discussing her possibilities before her breeding show show and both of them were hoping for some nines for tolt, trot, and form under rider. But guess what, right in the show, Askja figures out her gear number five, and scores a 7,5 in the first round. In her second sprint of her life, in the second round she does even better and scores a terrific 8,5 for pace! Ending up with 8 for tolt and trot, we were surprized, but happy to have our first prize mare. We know what she is like, a four gaited elegant mare with a pace worth 8,5! Her conformation is very elegant, 8,5 for neck and proportions precisely reflect her thin and long neck, and long legs with light body.  Askja has already proven her breeding value through two first prize offspring, and several young and promising ones one the way.
