Big and handsome, very willing and powerful five gaited mare with excellent, supple tolt and wide open pace.

Ásta is a big and very beautiful, five gaited mare. Her neck is long and arched, and she uses it very correctly for good head carriage. Her legs are long, the body is cylindrical and even and well proportioned. Leg quality is excellent and she is strongly built, yet graceful due to her long legs and arched neck. The tolt is great, wide speed range and supple with long strides. The pace is wide open, the trot not as steady, but big strided. The plan was to show her in 2010, so we bred her in early May wanting to add her to our herd of brood mares afterwards. Unfortunately we were never able to show her due to the caughing disease that all horses in Iceland got sick from. Her strength is great conformation, a lot of effort to perform, big strides in all her pure and supple gaits, where the tolt is best followed by the pace.
