Icelandic horses for sale: Last sales theme of the year

December 14, 2015

We are presenting the last sales theme of the year which is a little bit unusual.  We are going to offer 5 horses for sale, that are not really finished with their training.  The idea is to be able to offer good quality horses but for a low price since the new owner will finish the training him- or herself.  Many readers have contacted us about what they want the next theme to be on, and it is obvious that many riders want to rather save a little on the price, and instead be able to buy a good quality horse and do the work themselves.  This is our effort to fullfill those wishes.  It will be interesting to see how pictures of those horses turn out since the horses will in many cases not be ready to "show off."  But we will try to do picture today and tomorrow (Mon Dec 14th and Tue Dec 15th) of these horses since we never carry up to date pictures of horses that are in training.

The exception of this is maybe Blá, the first horse on the list.  We have some older pictures of her, and therefore she is first!  She has a lot of training on her record, but has been serving the purpose of being a lesson horse lately, or the riding horse of our 9 year old daughter.  So it is a couple of months since she was in professional training.  But she is 8 years old and very experienced, and basically is always like the rider wants her to be.  Blá is a great family horse with a lot of versatility, great bloodlines and stunning color.

Read more about her here.

Picture was taken last september and shows Blá with her nine year old trainer, Edda Magnúsdóttir.
